honestly one of the saddest thing about the state of twitter right now to me is that deviantart isn’t using it to claw it’s way back into people’s consciousness. like, artists are looking for an alternative – deviantart COULD be great if they redesigned/reverted the site and made a few changes to the way posts work there! they have so many cool features that you don’t find around anymore, like groups!! remember groups!! we could have clubs! or seeing the upcoming birthdays of everyone you follow in an easy place. deviantart could have a renaissance. NOT to mention how wonderful it would be to see a historic site get new life. but the site just still sucks. it’s so sad to me

Fr :’) Most recent stupid change to dA that literally nobody asked for and that Was Not broken and thus didn’t need “fixing”? New deviation submitter/editor UI. One where you can no longer edit/reupload images once you’ve submitted them. Why would they even remove this feature??? Like, bruh

And then ofc there’s the continued removal of other longtime features, the promotion and proliferation of AI “”“art”“” and adoptables, they can’t care enough about their site or mobile app to fix longtime glitches, the inconsistency and poor UI design that has lasted for 3+ years now, their search feature barely works anymore and tags are basically meaningless, the userbase is silent and all forms of interaction are nonexistent, etc.

Sometimes artists make things look so easy! I want to talk about my artistic process honestly, so I’m going to show you some pieces I struggled on, with my reasoning and references, and also my mistakes and where I asked for help. I’m glad you like my colors, they’re sometimes what I end up spending the most time on.

So hello and welcome to a somewhat long write up.

First I want to show this piece, “A friendship between an escort and an eel man,” that I love the finished colors of but was a pain while I was making it:

I start off with two ideas I wanted to combine for the color scheme: 

1. The two halves, the human half and the eel tank half, should be distinct. I thought human side red, eel tank blue. 

2. For additional contrast, I wanted human half dark and eel tank bright.

weird question related to something i’m trying to write but if someone is legally blind are they like. legally allowed to get a drivers license

thank u to the people that actually wear glasses and/or know literally anything for answering me u have been most helpful

(I will preface this by saying I am not legally blind, and I live in the USA. I did some reading/research to answer this better, but I may have made some mistakes! I am not an expert!)

In America, from reading on the American Foundation for the Blind’s website, legal blindness means that your vision with correction is a 20/200 (which is 6/60 vision elsewhere) or worse.
So if someone who’s legally blind by that definition lives in the USA, they would not be allowed to legally drive.

Since I don’t know where this person/character lives though – and thus don’t know the definition of legal blindness there – I have provided more general “vision impairment and its relation to driving legally” details below!
